date posted 7/7/2010 PixelMags require an Android mobile application developer to assist in the porting of our existing iOS digital magazine applications to the Android platform. The developer will be involved in the initial project set-up and will be responsible for implementing new features and ongoing maintenance of the application into the future.
Strong knowledge of the Java language and libraries and experience (although not necessarily commercial) using the Android SDK. The successful candidate will likely to have already completed an application. A knowledge of graphics technologies, formats and standards, as well as WebKit integration is required. Other technologies used frequently, and which the candidate should have a working knowledge of, include: JSON, HTTP, XML, REST, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, OpenSSL crypto keys and certificates
The successful applicant will possess a methodical and meticulous approach to software engineering; both programming and process. Good communication skills are needed to document the process and work effectively with the small engineering team. This position would suit a recent graduate or college-leaver with some experience of Android application development technologies.
